In the summer 1984, Eric left The Hinsons unexpectedly, resulting in a major vacancy for the front line of the Hinson's stage and recording sound. A nationwide talent search was rapidly conducted by The Hinsons, in order to find someone to fill the position. For several weeks that followed a large number of potential candidates were tried-out to no avail. Later that fall success was finally achieved when the Hinsons turned to rehearse Ronny's son Ronny Hinson Jr. (BO). From that time in 1984, Bo Hinson traveled with the Hinsons and remained until the group disbanded in June of 1988. Soon after the group disbanded, Bo went on to form Bo Hinson and Purpose which later evolved into "The New Hinsons".
